MUNICIPAL SIGNAGE
We worked with The Town of Edson on their new highway signage and brand new trailhead signs.
Highway Entrance Signs
Two highway signs, one on the east and one on the west end of town, needed to be replaced to showcase their new branding. The team at the Town of Edson had a concept in mind but were looking for some guidance to get their entrance signs just right.
The team was fully open to our feedback and suggestions and were eager to really go for it with the new brand. Our design team worked closely with them to bring their vision to life and they were able to make well-informed decisions for budgeting and planning their new highway signage.
We incorporated some of the existing site conditions to keep costs low. Our team moved the existing structures, removed and staged the installation to figure out if anything was salvageable from the foundation. We worked the design to fit what was there and gave them a unique cost-effective solution.
These highway signs are large and illuminate beautifully (a departure from the town’s old highway entrance signs). The Edson blue really had to pop for these LED signs – we opted for blue LEDs to pair with the blue facing.
Both signs were manufactured in our Edmonton shop and shipped out on a couple flatbeds, assembled onsite, and smoothly installed!
Trailhead Signage
Our second project with the town was won through RFP again, where we were selected as the preferred vendor. We provided full turn-key solutions for the project including the sign manufacturing, concrete, and installation.
Last year, Edson invested heavily in the development and promotion of their substantial trail system in and around town. As part of this larger recreation initiative, they required new signs for their trailheads. We designed, manufactured, and installed maps in 6 locations; motifs from their branding were worked into the design and there is clear consistency with their highway signage as well.
We have loved working with The Town of Edson on bringing their clean, modern brand to life. The replacement of the 2 large highway signs are massive improvements for visibility and promotion of the town – there’s now no chance of missing them when driving into Edson!
