As stage one of Alberta’s relaunch is upon us, we would like to share our experience with COVID-19 and our continued plan for maintaining the safety and well-being of our team, partners, and customers.

It’s been about 9 weeks since the introduction of special measures in our shops, introducing things like shift work, physical distancing practices, and heightened cleaning protocols. As with most, we aren’t holding onsite meetings, and employees that are on-site must maintain a 10-foot distance from one another. New fixtures like kickplates on our doors have basically removed the need to make contact with door handles.

Overall, our team has been going the extra mile and is doing an incredible job of keeping the work flowing, communication frequent, and spirits high. Our sales, admin, and designers are either working from home or are on rotational shift work at the office. Everyone is striving to maintain deadlines and is pushing forward in the safest way possible.

The past few months have given us time to refocus on a number of fronts internally. We have introduced a new phone system with an app that makes it incredibly easy for everyone to communicate and share files. Inventory counts and material lists have been updated, our fleet of trucks have been fully serviced, and departments have engaged in professional development opportunities.

It has been more important than ever to keep our team engaged and in contact with one another, and having fun. We have fired up a bunch of activities to help out.

  • Changing up our biweekly internal newsletter to include staff, industry, and company trivia
  • Regular COVID updates to keep our staff informed of staff hours, days off, new protocols, and relevant resources
  • Supporting local business has always been a big focus for our company, so we have been ordering lunch from local restaurants for our staff
  • Weekly departmental conference calls to go over current projects.

We are maintaining the same level of service our valued clients have come to expect while taking steps to ensure the safety and well-being of our staff and their families, as well as our customers and partners. We know that many of our clients and local businesses have been greatly affected by COVID measures and we are offering very flexible lease and payment plans to help keep projects alive and businesses moving forward.

We will continue to monitor Health Canada recommendations around workplace safety and wellness and will keep our approach fluid as updates and advisories are released.

Our biggest priority is keeping everyone safe!
